I have a passion for rainforests and couldn’t believe my luck when I found an apartment located right in the middle of a protected National Park with the spectacular Santubong mountain range as a backdrop. I fell in love with my apartment at Santubong Suites as soon as I saw it. The quality of the apartments is outstanding but what also attracted me is the fantastic view from my balcony onto the rainforest, the South China Sea and Borneo’s outlying islands. That’s not to mention the spectacular sunsets and a peace and tranquillity that is rarely found in our fast-paced modern lifestyles.
Santubong Suites is perfectly located on the sandy Damai peninsula but within close proximity to Kuching, Sarawak’s Capital City. I immediately felt at home in Kuching, maybe because it has such a cosmopolitan feel to it – like London – but without the stress and with better weather! But ideally the apartments are far enough away from Kuching so as not to be in the City, but close enough to visit as and when the need/desire arises.
In addition to the impressive Damai Golf Club which is right on the doorstop there’s plenty of other things to do in the local area, including visiting the Sarawak Cultural Village, home to the annual Rainforest World Music Festival. And don’t get me started on all the other festivals these people enjoy each year! There are plenty of places to eat as well, including the many themed restaurants at the local Holiday Inns and the local seafood restaurants serving fish caught fresh that day.
All in all buying my Santubong Suites apartment was the best investment I ever made and I’m looking forward to many visits back to my fabulous apartment across the years before finally moving out there when I retire.
